The government published ten steps to naturalization. Here they are in plain words. One. See if you are already a citizen. Two. See if you may be eligible. Three. Prepare Form N-400. Four. File the form and pay the government fee, if you must pay. Five. Give fingerprints and a photo. That is called biometrics. You go in person. Six. Go to an interview. You go in person. Seven. Take the English and civics test, unless an exception applies. Eight. Get the decision. Nine. Go to the ceremony. Ten. Take the Oath. You are not a citizen until you take the Oath. You do not need to remember every word today. You only need to know this map is real.
