Lesson words

There are two different kinds of money. Do not mix them up. One. A scam fee paid to a helper for a blank form. That should be zero. Two. A filing fee paid to USCIS. That is real. On the current government schedule, many people pay about 710 dollars to file N-400 online, or about 760 dollars on paper. Some people pay a reduced fee of 380 dollars if their household income is low enough. Some people may ask for a full fee waiver with Form I-912. Some members of the military may pay no N-400 fee. If you ask for a reduced fee or a waiver, you must file on paper. You cannot file that N-400 online. Fees can change. A video can get old. The official fee page does not. Look there on the day you file.

This is education. It is not legal advice. Only USCIS decides your case. Government forms are free at uscis.gov.
