After you file, USCIS may send you a biometrics appointment. You go to a government center. They take fingerprints. They take a photo. They take a signature. This visit is usually short. They do not give you the civics test here. They do not decide your case here. Bring the appointment notice. Bring your green card. Bring another photo ID if you have one. Go on time. If you cannot go, follow the instructions on the notice or in your USCIS account. Do not ignore the letter. Missing the appointment without a plan can stop your case.
